Legal Counsel - Cyprus based
As one of the largest People Experience Management Cloud Solutions consulting firms in the EMEA region, AKT is looking for a Legal Counsel professional.
The Legal Counsel will be responsible for managing all legal aspects of the business under the supervision of the COO. This individual will provide comprehensive legal support to the company’s operations, focusing on clients, partnerships, data privacy, and employment matters. The ideal candidate will have experience in contract law, corporate governance, data protection regulations, and employment law, preferably within a professional services environment.
This position will be reporting to the AKT COO, and is open to candidates living in Cyprus for a full-time or a part-time role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide variety of legal agreements, such as Professional Services (PSA), Data Privacy (DPA), Employment, and Consulting Agreements
- Advice on legal matters, addressing intellectual property, commercial, compliance and HR-related matters
- Defining and maintaining internal policies and procedures to establish compliance with local and international laws and regulations
- Ensure data privacy compliance (e.g., GDPR) and advise on data protection matters
- Stay up to date with changes in relevant laws and regulations and communicate their impact to the company
- Manage external legal counsel relationships when necessary for specialized legal matters or litigation support
Job Requirements:
- A Bachelor's law degree from a leading academic faculty, and qualification to practice law
- 4+ years of relevant legal experience, preferably in an in-house counsel role or a law firm focused on corporate or commercial law
- Relevant experience working with/at Professional Services companies or cloud solutions – a huge advantage
- Experience with contract law, data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR), and employment law
- Proficient in applying legal knowledge and analytical abilities to address business issues and aid in decision-making
- Strong writing, drafting, and negotiation skills
- Excellent Hebrew and English - verbal and written. Other languages are an advantage
